“Your image of the child: Where teaching begins”
(Loris Malaguzzi)
There is no one definition of a teacher’s role, it is fluid and flexible, in response to children’s needs, unique contexts and the evolving world. However, our image of the child and our hopes and dreams for the future are what defines and re-defines us.
When we see each child as unique and powerful, we become “supporters of the competent child” Carolyn Edwards (2012). We set goals with children and families that go far beyond rote learning and results, with a vision for a more equitable and peaceful world.
